Rapid Strategy Development and Strategy Refresh Summits

Successful and sustainable strategic planning requires the engagement of employees from across functions and levels - as well as key internal/external stakeholder groups. IPI’s work involves the design and delivery of facilitated strategic planning sessions that engage the "whole system" in ways that are practical and meaningful. At the center of our process is a "Summit", and includes preparation for the summit, delivery and facilitation of Rapid Strategy Development or Strategy Refresh summit, then tailored follow-up to ensure the Strategy is Implemented and drives the expected results.

Preparation (Identify)

  • Executive Sponsors: Engage project sponsors to develop overall expectations, introduce AI Summit approach, confirm goals, boundaries, roles, timing, and provide updates on progress
  • Core Planning Teams: Mobilize and energize core planning team to guide and co-design the summit, develop a tailored AI interview guide, and establish a channel of action and communication to drive engagement and ownership.
  • Logistics Coordination: Select venue, manage logistics needs of attendees and facilitation team (materials, room set-up, food, etc), and provide on-site support to enable a conducive learning environment.

Summit (Inquire, Imagine, Innovate, Implement)

The Rapid Strategy Development or Strategy Refresh Summit includes three phases, each with a specific focus and objective.
SummitContinuity (Inquiry): The Summit participants establish a shared understanding of the organization strengths, assets, and opportunities

Novelty (Imagine/Innovate): Summit participants develop an inspirational vision and direction based on participant’s highest aspirations and desired impact and results for the organization

Transition (innovate/Implement): Through creative design and planning activities at the summit, participants are able to prototype and try out new ideas, develop a robust implementation roadmap, and garner the commitment and energy to ensure movement toward the vision AND implementation success.
